Individual Therapy
A place to slow down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and reconnect with yourself.
Sometimes life becomes louder than our own inner wisdom. Anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, substance use, or a major life transition can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and unsure of what comes next.
Therapy offers a place to become curious about what you're experiencing—not simply to make the discomfort go away, but to understand what it may be telling you.
A brief introduction to how I approach individual therapy and what our work together might look like.
What Our Work Might Look Like
We’ll begin with what is happening in your life right now. Sometimes that means finding ways to manage anxiety, depression, grief, or overwhelming emotions. Sometimes it means exploring patterns that have been present for years. And sometimes it begins with a quieter sense that something in your life simply isn’t working anymore.
Our work will be collaborative. We’ll pay attention not only to what you’re thinking, but to what you’re feeling, how you respond when life becomes difficult, and the patterns that may be keeping you from living as fully as you would like.
There isn't a predetermined destination. We begin where you are and discover together what wants your attention.
Beginning Therapy
Sessions last 55 minutes.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin exploring what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about what is happening in your life, what you would like to be different, and where it might make sense for us to begin. There doesn't need to be a perfectly defined goal before we start. Part of our work together may be discovering what you're really looking for.
How often should we meet?
Most often, I recommend beginning with weekly sessions. As our work progresses, we may decide that meeting less frequently makes sense. The frequency isn't predetermined; we'll decide together based on what is most helpful for you.
